Step into the circle. Let’s gather, learn, and grow.

This program is, at its heart, about gathering in community.

It’s a space for adults to come together outdoors – to slow down, to be present, and to share and play in a way that often gets lost in the pace of everyday life. Rather than working toward a fixed outcome, we hold space for what naturally unfolds. Conversation, quiet moments, shared laughter, curiosity, and connection all have a place here.

At its core, this is about carving out intentional time to be together in nature.

We recognize that life is full, and schedules are often stretched. Because of this, we ask participants to honour the importance of this space by committing to attend as consistently as possible. The depth of connection that grows here is rooted in presence, continuity, and the willingness to return to the circle, month after month.

From this foundation, everything else grows.

Through time on the land, we deepen our relationship with nature, with each other, and with ourselves. Bushcraft skills, seasonal awareness, and land-based knowledge are woven in along the way – not as the goal, but as natural expressions of our time together.

Each session is shaped by the group and the season. We follow what arises, drawing on the interests, questions, and lived experience of those present to guide our shared journey.

The program includes eight in-person sessions, held once a month on Saturdays from September to May, with optional prompts offered between gatherings to support ongoing reflection and connection.

At Free Spirit Forest and Nature School, we spend our days outdoors in all weather. When temperatures drop, fire becomes our best friend, and hot tents are available if needed. Please note that this location uses port-o-potties and there is no running water, so remember to bring your own water bottle, along with a hearty lunch and whatever else you need to keep yourself comfortable for the day.

This program welcomes those who feel called to gather – to listen, to share, to play, and simply to be. Thank you for stepping into the circle and choosing to say yes.

Have a child ages 6-10?  Have them join our Wolf Pack program which runs during the same time.  All Ember Keepers receive a discount on this!  More info here.

“Joining Ember Keepers has been such a refreshing experience! It’s a welcoming space where adults who love learning and nature can come together, share ideas, and grow. I’ve met so many amazing people who are just as curious and passionate as I am. Whether we’re exploring new topics or just connecting with nature, every session feels like a fun, uplifting adventure. It’s a perfect place to learn, laugh, and feel inspired.”

– Christina, Ember Keeper

“It has enriched my skills and helped me find a sense of community with like-minded people and pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible. It’s a space where I’ve been able to reconnect with nature in a profound way, also there is nothing like getting to run around and play with your friends! I look forward to each month’s gathering and will absolutely be signing up for the next session. Ember Keepers is something truly special, and I’m so grateful to be part of it.”
