Chickadees (Ages 4-5)
The youngest of our explorers, the Chickadee is heavily focused on play and emergent-based learning. Students will regularly explore and engage with nature throughout all of their daily adventures. Get ready to build your coordination, confidence and curiosity as we embark on this nature journey together! We have a maximum 5 students to 1 facilitator ratio.
*Students must be able to use the bathroom independently
Painted Turtles (Ages 6-7), Sparrows/Saplings (ages 5-7, Wasaga Beach/MEaford)
Our Painted Turtle/Sparrow program has a ratio of 6 students to 1 facilitator. This small class size allows students to spend most of the day exploring and discovering all of the wonders, big and small, at our site! Learning to work together, cultivating their connection with nature in fun and engaging ways, the Painted Turtles are active agents in their own learning! They partake in developmentally appropriate activities and adventure, engage in “risky play” and learn how to assess their own risks independently. It’s a good day to be a Painted Turtle!
snowy Owls (Ages 8-11)
As our older students, we look to them as leaders at Forest School and work hard on developing socio-emotional, physical and cognitive skills in a nature-based setting. Snowy Owls dive deeper into themes of ecological and environmental literacy, risky play, and develop a pretty unique set of new outdoor skills! Just ask to borrow their natural hammer or homemade spoon!
Blue Herons (Ages 12+)
The newest edition to our growing school! These folks are our leaders-in-training and future outdoor mentors.
