Nurturing Connection with Self, Others and Nature
Established in 2016, Free Spirit Forest and Nature School is Southern Georgian Bay’s only not-for-profit Forest School Canada and Ministry of Education certified private school program. We offer quality nature programming for ages 18m-12+ – including adults!

Our Core Weekly Programs
Students join us on the same day(s) each week for the school year, 8:45AM-3:30PM
Sparrows JK/SK
They may be a small bird, but they reach for the top of the trees and sing their hearts out!
Chickadees JK/SK
These little birds are among the bravest and are incredibly resilient creatures that love to play!
Painted Turtles
Turtles love to explore but also know how to slow things down, take it all in and enjoy time with friends.
Snowy Owls
The wise owls are patient creatures. They observe and listen and know when to strike!
Blue Herons
These folks display calmness, stand tall and are self-reliant. There’s a reason we call them “Great”!
Tamaracks (L.I.T.)
They are hearty, resilient and flexible. They are adaptive, ebbing and flowing with the changes of the season. They are unique, interconnected and spread their roots wide.

Free Spirit Forest and Nature School acknowledges that we meet, learn, create and play on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat peoples, as well as the traditional lands and treaty territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation.
We acknowledge all others who traditionally were connected to these places and thank you as original caretakers of this land who have lived and continue to live here since time immemorial. We are dedicated to honouring Indigenous history and culture and committed to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation and respect with all First Nation, Métis and Inuit people.
